September 28, 2011Martel Design have carried out the Design for the oak framed Sun-Lounge extension to the rear of the property, the photos show the frame being assembled and erected following supply by Oakmasters, restricted site conditions meant the frames having to be craned over the dwelling .

August 25, 2011Martel Design carried out the Full Planning and Building Control applications and Structural Engineering design for a private client for the redevelopment of this 1960′s bungalow.
The property was substantially altered with extensions for additional bedrooms and the reconstruction of a lower level Garage with a new Lounge area with vaulted ceiling. With the new elevated terrace and the internal replanning, the property now takes advantage of the rural views over the rear of the property as well as providing a grand entrance

Les Oiseaux Lodge
January 8, 2010Works are now complete for the Alterations and Extensions to this property which consisted of the reroofing of an old converted barn to provide additional bedroom and an extension to the front to provide Kitchen and Dining and Hallway, Martel Design provided the Engineering design for the new cut roof with steel ridge beams and a vaulted roof over the Kitchen. Works are complete on a three storey detached house in Upper St Jacques. Martel Design carried out the Engineering design for the structure, the property which is partially built into a slope, has reinforced concrete retaining walls to three sides forming the ground floor and integral garages with a Beam & Block Ground floor and Ecojoist First floor, the complex vaulted roof incorporates a cranked steel framework and traditional timber rafters.
